Implementing the e-invoicing mandate with focus
Flexible adaptation and extension thanks to low- and no-code – the INVOICE ASSISTANT from MR.KNOW automates the incoming invoice.
From 1 January 2025, all B2B companies in Germany are required to receive and process e-invoices in a standardised format. Simple PDF invoices without structured data will then no longer be recognised as valid. This change promotes more efficient, accurate and transparent invoice processing and speeds up VAT accounting through automated processes that comply with the European standards of the CEN norm EN 16931.
MR.KNOW offers companies a comprehensive solution for automating incoming invoice processing – from data capture through to posting into the ERP system. Thanks to the modular architecture of MR.KNOW, electronic invoice processing is designed to be flexible and extensible, so that it can be optimally tailored to the individual requirements and existing systems of the companies. Through low- and no-coding as well as modelling in the BPMN 2.0 standard, the system can be quickly and easily adapted to specific processes. An essential part of the MR.KNOW solution is support for e-invoice formats such as XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. XRechnung is an XML-based format that standardises the electronic exchange of invoices with public bodies in Germany. ZUGFeRD combines PDF/A-3 files with embedded XML data and enables an invoice representation that is both human-readable and machine-processable.
With MR.KNOW, incoming invoice processing is fully digital and automated: OCR technologies and format adapters map the invoice data to the respective fields, the cross-system integration (e.g. SAP, MS Dynamics, Datev) reconciles them with the ERP system, and the approval and posting process runs automatically or manually – depending on requirements and individual rules.
Via integrated reporting and monitoring functions, all invoice processes can be tracked in detail, which increases transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements. Companies thus receive a modular, scalable solution that, in addition to compliance with statutory regulations, enables comprehensive process automation.
