INTERSNACK AUTOMATES HR PROCESSES

Partner: perbit Software

Always up to date in terms of human resources and technology – this is the claim of the HR department of the Cologne-based company Intersnack. For the long-standing customer of partner perbit, the change to the latest software generation perbit.insight was therefore quickly decided.

For Intersnack Knabber-Gebäck GmbH & Co. KG in Cologne, well-organised HR management has always been an important factor in the company's success. A broad-based migration project is being implemented to meet the changed challenges of human resource work.

"The war for talent has also arrived at our company, of course," says HR Manager Dr. Joachim Witte, quoting a key driver for change. "This comes with many new areas of responsibility. In addition to recruiting, there is a strong focus on examining, promoting and retaining internal talent. Efficient and transparent processes in the areas of human resource development, human resource management and human resource planning are the prerequisites."

Intersnack is the number 1 for salty snack biscuits in Germany, and was created from the merger of the Convent Group and Wolf Bergstrasse. Today, the market leader has about 1,700 employees. Since the mid-1980s, the company has relied on high-performance IT support for its human resource work, and has been accompanied by perbit as its HR solution partner right from the start.

Perbit.insight is the fourth software generation to be used. "Our goal is to carry on increasing the degree of automation of our human resource processes," is the motto of project manager Wolfgang Schlösser. "The web component makes it possible to directly incorporate our management and our skilled workers. They get an overview of the human resource information that they require at all times, and will even be able to draw up evaluations and lists themselves in future".

The system migration was used as an opportunity to comprehensively review and optimize existing procedures and structures. The human resource information system was to be completely restructured. This included changing the payroll program that had previously been used. "The decisive factor for us was the close cooperation between perbit and Sage HR, with which we are attempting to improve the integration of the solutions from both companies," explains Wolfgang Schlösser.

Once the first part of the project with the interface setup to the Sage payroll accounting has been completed, the second part of the project is now converting perbit.views to the web interface of perbit.insight. The data transfer from the legacy system can be carried out easily and smoothly. But before the new system can start up, Wolfgang Schlösser's team still has some work to do. "As well as making functional enhancements, we are also reorganising our methods and forms as part of the migration," reports the project manager. "The high degree of individualization that is typical of perbit is also evident here: The menu navigation and the screen layout to our needs can be adapted to our needs easily and without additional programming."

Intersnack expects a considerable amount of potential, particularly from the process engine that is integrated in perbit.insight, which will be used very intensively. "Taking all of the constellations and scenarios into consideration, we can map our HR processes exactly and control them automatically," says Wolfgang Schlösser. "During the development of the process definitions, we have already identified many optimization options compared to the previous processes."

First of all, the entire seminar registration process is going to be mapped via the new system. Other process automations have already been planned in order to support managers in their human resource tasks on a role-based basis. Wolfgang Schlösser is confident that the project will be successfully and accurately implemented: "With perbit's experienced consulting, we have a partner at our side who is very familiar with our specific requirements."
